What is Halotherapy?

 You may or may not have heard the term Halotherapy.  A type of therapy that is rapidly rising in popularity throughout the world, gaining interest from many walks of life for several reasons. Halotherapy takes its name from the Greek word ‘Halos’, meaning ‘Salt and has been in practice for centuries.  It's roots can be traced as far back as the 1800s to books which were published on the health benefits of Salt Dust. These writings were initially inspired by the fact that the salt miners of this time period did not suffer any respiratory ailments, and were cured of various other medical problems.
 The first Salt rooms where opened in eastern Europe in the 1960’s gaining momentum throughout the rest of Europe over the 1980’s and 1990’s. The treatment exercises the use of salt vapour in salt rooms allowing you to breath in these vapours effortlessly. It is useful to patients of all ages, and treatments can even be taken as a family.
